You first cycle a bit along the Zevenhuizerplas, a lake created by sand extraction. Then you cycle along the Rottemeren. From the path you have a beautiful view of reed beds, rippling water and the vast surroundings. At the Zevenhuizer Verlaat you see the Eendrachtsmolen, a polder mill from 1727. Further along the Rotte you see four more beautiful eighteenth-century polder mills. In Moerkapelle you pass the beautiful village church from 1622. Between junctions 53 and 52 you cycle along the Bentwoud, a young nature reserve. In Waddinxveen you pass the beautiful Brugkerk from 1837, then you cycle to the historic heart of Gouda. It seems as if you have ended up a few centuries back in time here, with all those beautiful old buildings!
