Come and cycle for a day through the beautiful surroundings of Diepenbeek in Belgian Limburg. You will find plenty of natural beauty in the Land of 1001 Ponds. You will also pass through Hasselt, the beautiful former mining town.
Japanese garden
You start this route at Junction 100 at the Demerstrand sports and reaction domain. An ideal base for an exciting bike ride along all the beauty that central Limburg has to offer. First you cycle a bit through the valley of the Demer river. A wonderfully quiet area where you can immediately leave the daily routine behind you. Then you come through the Japanese garden, an interesting stop.
Cycling through the water
You cycle along the beautiful old city centre of Hasselt. You can take a short trip here to admire some beautiful historical buildings. Further on you cycle through De Wijers, Land of 1001 Ponds. Here you can cycle through the water! From the sunken cycle path you get to know the ponds at eye level. You will also find the Bokrijk open-air museum in this region. When you return, you can enjoy something tasty on the beautiful terrace of cycling café Knooppunt 100.
