Diepenbeek: junction of Limburg

Come and spend a day cycling through the beautiful surroundings of Diepenbeek in Belgian Limburg. You will find plenty of natural beauty in the Land of 1001 Ponds. You will also pass through Hasselt, the beautiful former mining town.

Japanese garden
You start this route at Junction 100 at the Demerstrand sports and reaction domain. An ideal base for a fascinating cycle tour along all the beautiful things that central Limburg has to offer. First you cycle a bit through the valley of the Demer river. A wonderfully quiet area where you can immediately leave the everyday routine behind. Then you pass through the Japanese garden, an interesting stop.

Cycling through the water
You cycle past the beautiful old city center of Hasselt. You can take a trip here to admire some beautiful historic buildings. Further on you drive through De Wijers, Land van 1001 Vijvers. Here you can cycle through the water! From the sunken cycle path you can get to know the ponds at eye level. You will also find the Bokrijk open-air museum in this region. When you return, you can enjoy something tasty on the beautiful terrace of the Knooppunt 100 bicycle café.
