This cycle route takes you past various war memorials and windmills in Groningen. The starting point of this route is Westerwolde and you can discover the area through the beautiful, peaceful nature.

Mills and monuments
Along the way you will pass several windmills and monuments. In Vlagtwedde you pass Rolinbrug Veele and shortly afterwards - in Bellingwedde - you cycle along the Nieman\\\'s Meul\\\'n. The route continues to Nieuwe Pekela, where you will see Monument Verzetsgraf Nieuwe Pekela. The resistance grave was erected in memory of a number of fellow citizens who died in the battle against the occupying forces during the Second World War. A little later you cycle past windmill De Zwaluw. This mill was built in 1891.

Green environment

No distant horizons, but intimate pieces of heath, forest or farmland.
