In the west of Brabant you drive through Bergen op Zoom, Steenbergen and Roosendaal. You pass many old sights here. The beautiful Brabant forests are also not missing on this route!
Bergen op Zoom
First you cycle along the Markiezaatsmeer and the Binnenschelde. Just look out over the water, while you loosen up your legs. Then you cycle through Bergen op Zoom, a city with a rich history. You pass through the beautiful city park Kijk in de Pot. You also see many beautiful old buildings, such as the fourteenth-century Gevangenpoort, the oldest building in the city.
Steenbergen
You pass Fort De Roovere. This redoubt from 1628 was beautifully restored a few years ago. Steenbergen is a former fortified town, around the Market you will find some beautiful monuments, such as the Sint-Gummarus church from 1901. Through the polders with their creeks and streams you cycle to Roosendaal. Here you cycle through the beautifully landscaped, elongated Watermolenbeekpark. Past Nispen you will find even more natural beauty: the forests of the Wouwse Plantage.
