Lovely walks in South Limburg, over hills and through rolling valleys. This route takes you past a special forest area: Ravensbosch.
Hulsberg
The route starts in Schimmert. Via the hamlet of Helle you make a turn around Aalbeek, to the larger village of Hulsberg. After 6 kilometers you reach Preuverie in the Wiesj, a perfect moment for lunch. Enjoy one of the tasty sandwiches or pancakes, then you can get back to it. It is a beautiful spot, with a nice terrace in the middle of an old square farm. Typical Limburg!
Ravensbosch
You walk back to Schimmert through the Ravensbosch. This dark forest area is wonderfully quiet. You will find special flora and there are even glowworms. Hollow roads, beautiful standard orchards, half-timbered farms, chapels and crucifixes: this hilly landscape with its beautiful stream valleys and steep slopes is one of the most beautiful areas of South Limburg.
