Cycling route Wieringen, Anna Paulowna and Breezand

From Breezand you can drive straight onto the Amsteldiepdijk. Here you have a beautiful view over the Amstelmeer. This water (then still called the Amsteldiep) once formed a transition between the Wadden Sea and the Zuiderzee. Now you no longer see VOC ships, but surfers. On the former island of Wieringen you pass De Onderneming, a corn mill from 1851. In Hippolytushoef you can take a look at the old Hippolytus church, it is partly built of tuff stone. On car-free roads you cycle past meadows and farms to Den Oever. From the harbour you can see the Afsluitdijk. Along the Amstelmeerkanaal it is wonderfully quiet cycling along the south side of Wieringen. The last two villages on your route are Wieringerwaard and Anna Paulowna. The route ends with a pleasant terrace at Eetcafe De Witte Brug.
