Description
From Meerssen you can walk straight into the hills. This route takes you through a number of hillside forests.
Waterfallderbeek
You climb the Kruisberg, a hill whose top is 104 meters high. Look back every now and then to enjoy the increasingly wide view of Maastricht. Via Humcoven you walk to the valley of the Watervalderbeek. Rolling meadows, old trees: what a beautiful spot!
Vineyard Mountain
Then you walk for a while through the slope forest on the Wijngaardsberg. At the foot of the hill you pass a monumental courtyard from 1870. Wine has been grown on the Wijngaardsberg since the Middle Ages, and you can still see the old terraces in the forest. Finally, you walk through the forest on the Kloosterberg. It is wonderfully quiet here. Ideal to relax.
