Cycling tour along the North Holland North Sea coast

You start this varied cycling day at Grand Café Plein in Petten. Then you cycle through the Pettemerduinen to Callantsoog, the seaside resort that was once an island. Here you pass the Reformed Church from 1580, a picture! You cycle through the dunes to Julianadorp, after which you cycle along the North Holland Canal and the bulb fields. The last part of the route you cycle through the Zijpe- and Hazepolder, an area where the raised bog was poldered between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries with a straight plot pattern. Here you pass characteristic farmhouses, polder mills and two old pontoon bridges. You also pass through Mennonietenbuurt, a settlement founded by Mennonites in the eighteenth century. At Restaurant de Watersnip you make a pit stop, after which you cycle back to Petten.
