An eight around Horn

Around Horn it is nice to walk through the varied nature. You walk through nature reserve the Kloppeven. In Horn itself you will pass some beautiful sights.

Castle Horn
Your walk starts with a coffee and a delicious lunch at Eetcafé Aan de Kirk in the heart of Horn. You can see some beautiful buildings here, such as the church from 1936. A little further on is Kasteel Horn, one of the oldest intact medieval ring wall fortresses in the Netherlands. The castle was built on a natural elevation on the Maas and probably dates back to the tenth or eleventh century. You walk a bit through the beautiful castle park, enjoy!

Kloppeven
Just outside Horn you walk along an old Maas arm and past meadows. Get some fresh air and enjoy the tranquility. Around junction 14 you walk through the Hoogbroek, an area where agricultural land, forest and old farms alternate. From junction 35 you walk through the Kloppeven. A natural gem around a former Maasarm that consists of forest, hedgerows and water features. Back in Horn you can still admire two nineteenth-century flour mills: De Hoop and De Welvaart.
