Cycling route Veluwemeer

A round along the Veluwemeer will give you a beautiful day of cycling. First you cycle over the Harderdijk. On the left you look out over the rippling water of the Veluwemeer. It is almost impossible to imagine that the rugged coastline of the Zuiderzee once lay here. There are a few islands in the lake, such as De Kluut. You will also see the Gemaal Lovink from 1956. Along Harderwijk you cycle into the Gelderse Vallei. Here you cycle through a decor of meadows, fields and old farms. Just past junction 1 you can still see the foundations of the Sint-Ludgeruskerk in Doornspijk on the left of the Oude Zeeweg.
