Cycling route Veluwemeer

A tour along the Veluwemeer provides you with a beautiful cycling day. First you drive over the Harderdijk. On the left you look out over the rippling water of the Veluwemeer. It is almost impossible to imagine that the rugged coastline of the Zuiderzee once lay here. There are several islands in the lake, such as De Kluut. You will also see the Lovink Gemaal from 1956. Passing Harderwijk you enter the Gelderse Vallei. Here you cycle through a backdrop of meadows, fields and old farms. Just past junction 1 you can see the foundations of the St. Ludgerus Church of Doornspijk on the left of the Oude Zeeweg.
