Description
Between the Western Scheldt, the Veerse Meer and the North Sea lies a beautiful cycling region: Walcheren. Get on the saddle for a tour that takes you through Vlissingen, Middelburg and Veere.
Middelburg
First you drive through a piece of Vlissingen. A little later you enter Middelburg. You will see many beautiful old buildings here, such as the VOC building from 1651 in which the former museum De Glazenkast was located. In Veere you will find even more history. Here you can see the town hall, which still has its original centuries-old facade.
Beekeeping
After a while you will see a marina from the Polredijk, and you can also look out over the Veerse Meer. The route takes you to Viewpoint Hoge Stoel, climb it for a beautiful view over the Veerse Kreek. Then you drive through the polders. You will find plenty of peace and characteristic villages here. Imkerij Poppendamme has been a household name in Walcheren for 25 years, a nice starter! You cycle back to Vlissingen behind the dunes.
