The Schans
Then from the road you look out over the rippling water of the Grevelingenmeer. Further on, on the left is the Schans, a former military fort from 1665. Then on the left you will see the Koudenhoek, an unspoilt nature reserve consisting of bird-rich meadows and creeks. From Melissant you take the path that leads you along the Slikken van Flakkee: an unspoilt nature reserve with lots of shrubs.
Goedereede
Around junction 83 you cycle along De Vlieger, a watercourse where you will find a lot of natural beauty around the bank. You will also pass through the protected villagescape of Middelharnis, where you will find a unique atmosphere due to the many well-preserved monuments. You can get a breath of fresh air in the polders, it is so peaceful here! Finally, you pass through Goedereede, another old town that is rich in cultural history.
