Description
Ouddorp is a charming place. An ideal starting point to discover the riches of Goeree-Overflakkee. Enjoy the natural beauty and cultural history in Middelharnis and Goedereede.
The Schans
Then you look out from the road over the rippling water of the Grevelingenmeer. Further on on the left is the Schans, a former military fortress from 1665. Then on the left you see the Koudenhoek, an unspoilt nature reserve consisting of bird-rich meadows and creeks. From Melissant you take the path that leads you along the Slikken van Flakkee: an unspoilt nature reserve with lots of shrubbery.
Goodness
Around junction 83 you cycle along De Vlieger, a watercourse where you will find a lot of natural beauty around the bank. You will also pass through the protected townscape of Middelharnis, which has a unique atmosphere because of the many well-preserved monuments. In the polders you can enjoy a breath of fresh air, it is so quiet here! Finally, you pass Goedereede, another old town that is rich in cultural history.
