Description

This route runs through two landscapes. The southern part shows Meppel as the center of an extensive stream valley landscape with meadows and peat excavations with canals and canals. Seen from the southeast, the city is the gateway to Drenthe. A few kilometers north, past Kolderveen and Nijeveen, you reach the higher sandy soils. In this area around Havelte there are moraines, resulting in large differences in relief. To the north of this area you will again see a stream valley landscape in which the 7700 m long road village Wapser-veen is located, a peripheral peat extraction along the Wapserveensche Aa.
