On the road across the Veluwezoom

Recreational lakes along the IJssel, the city parks of Arnhem, the Loenermark and the Veluwezoom visitor center: what a varied route!

City parks
Your route starts near the Posbank. You will soon pass Brasserie Veluwezoom, a nice place to take a break and enjoy this beautiful old farm complex. You will also find the Veluwezoom visitor center here. After a steep descent you will discover the beautiful Valeplas and Lathumse Plas, two recreational lakes excavated on the IJssel. You can easily drive from the IJsselvallei into the city. In Arnhem you cycle past the beautiful city parks of Presikhaaf, Angerenstein and Klarenbeek.

Loenermark
Further on, get off at Deelen Air Base Museum. Here you will learn everything about the night air war over the Netherlands in the Second World War, using photos, documents and uniforms. You drive past the ancient Deelerwoud to the Loenermark, a beautiful area with forests, rolling heathlands and a sheepfold. You can spot numerous animals, such as fallow deer, red deer, roe deer and wild boar. Back at square one, you can have a cup of coffee at Paviljoen de Posbank.
