Cycling through Terneuzen and the polders

The route starts in Sas van Gent, a former fortified town near the Belgian border. You will find a nice atmosphere here. You can also admire some beautiful buildings, such as the Maria Hemelvaartskerk on the Markt from 1892. On the other side of the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal you cycle through a wide landscape of meadows, dikes and rows of trees. The creeks are also not missing, you cycle along the Axelse Kreek that was created in 1790. In Zaamslag you pass the town hall from 1904 and the Protestant Church from 1898. At Taste Churchill you can get off for a pit stop. Enjoy a drink and a delicious meal at your leisure, before you drive back into the polder. Via Sluiskil you drive back to Sas van Gent.
