Get a breath of fresh air in the vast Groningen

In the north of Groningen you can get a breath of fresh air in the polders. You regularly drive through a beautiful old village, such as Eenrum and Pieterburen.

Eenrum
The route starts at Marenland Recreation. Here you can grab a coffee with a view of the water at the Winsumerdiep before you get on the saddle. You ride your legs loose in the characteristic open Groningen landscape. Get some fresh air, so you can quickly leave your daily routine behind. In Mensin Rifle you can view the beautiful Michael Church from the thirteenth century. Eenrum is one of the most beautiful mound villages in the Marne: it enjoys a protected village view.

Wadden
In Pieterburen you can take a look at the fifteenth-century Peter's Church. De Vier Winden is a grist and peeling mill from 1846. Then you cycle into the Noordpolder, a vast area where it is wonderfully quiet by Dutch standards. So enjoy! Climb the dike for a beautiful view over the Wadden. In Warffum you will see some stately old buildings and farms. The St. Laurentius Church in Baflo is one of the oldest in Groningen.
