Kattukse Dune Route with coffee stop

From winter visitors flying overhead to the many historical traces of Katwijk aan Zee: this route lets you fully enjoy nature and culture. From the starting point in Katwijk, you'll soon walk past Strandcamping Zuidduinen and restaurant Duijnroos, where you can stop for a coffee. At the highest points of the forest ranger's path in Hollands Duin, you'll have a clear view of the beautiful surroundings. From the Vlaggenduin Viewpoint, you'll be treated to a phenomenal view! You'll walk across the former potato fields, discover the old water tower, and see the wild swans in the lake. This is a major water catchment area. A new pond has been dug, which has a positive effect on the wet Bendel dune valley, managed by Staatsbosbeheer (the Dutch Forestry Commission). There's also more space for mosses, herbs, and other typical dune plants.
