Description
Discover the bird-rich Mariapeel during a walk through nature and past the peat history of Limburg and Brabant. From the elongated canals to the flat fields, the past breathes here. Come spring, then life in the Peel will burst again.
Highlights
- You will find birds such as the oriole, bluethroat and buzzard at various places in De Peel.
- The Helena canal cuts through the Peel landscape and is surrounded by oak trees and stately homes. The dug out peat used to be transported over the elongated canal.
- Along the walking path you will encounter gnawed branches and other traces of the beaver.
Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash. the forest ranger's path goes over both unpaved and paved paths and is not suitable for the disabled.
