Muiden and Weesp are two beautiful old fortress towns where there is plenty to see and experience. In the countryside you can enjoy the peace and the varied natural beauty.
Cycling along the dike along the meandering Gein you enjoy a typical Dutch view of meadows, cows and monumental farms. You can also see the Broekzijde Molen, a polder mill from 1641. A little later you come across an old polder mill on the Gaasp: the Community mill from 1708. Further on you drive along the Diemerbos and through the idyllic surroundings along the river Diem.
In Muiden you can still see many old buildings. What a nice atmosphere! You can walk in to the Muizenfort, which was built at the end of the nineteenth century. You drive to Muiderberg on a car-free road. Climb the dike for a view over the IJmeer. In the polder you pass the Meermolen / Onrust, a polder mill from 1809. Along the Vecht you enter Weesp, there is plenty to do in this historic fortified city. The route ends at Fort at Nigtevecht.
