At the Vinkeveense Plassen you can get off to enjoy the silence and untouched nature. Around this nature reserve are some beautiful old towns and wide polder landscapes.
Mondrian
Along the course of the river Gein you cycle through a landscape of green meadows, cows and pollard willows and elongated plots with old farms. You pass the Oostzijdse Molen dating from 1874, one of Mondriaan's beloved painting objects. In Abcoude you see, among other things, the Wilhelminabrug, a kwakel (pedestrian bridge) from 1908. You also see some beautiful monuments here, such as the fifteenth-century Gothic church.
Botshol
Then you cycle over the dike along the meandering rivers Winkel and Waver. On the left you see the Botshol, an untouched nature reserve that is considered a quiet area. You cycle through Demmerik, among other things. Thanks to the long and transverse farms, Demmerik still looks like an old peat village. At Fort Nieuwersluis you can enjoy a refreshing stopover in a historical environment on Sundays in the tea garden. Between Loenersloot and Baambrugge you pass many monuments, varying from farms to a castle.
