Description
A walk through the old landscape of the Hondsrug is like a walk through an old painting. Discover the view at Hemelriek, the meandering Anderse Diep and walk over the former shifting dunes. In the spring the herbs are in bloom and you can meet the deer.
Highlights
- The wooded banks at the stream valley of the Anderse Diep are 150 years old.
- The small heathland near De Kuil is in bloom in August.
- At the old drift sand afforestation you walk past old pines and over former drift dunes.
- The old Hemelriek is a natural fen. peat moss and cranberry grow on the island.
This walk is mainly on an unpaved path, some parts are on a cycle path. Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead. Route is not suitable for disabled people.
