Park Zeedijk, feel the nature route!

You drive  the Slikken van Flakkee nature reserve. This unspoilt nature reserve is located next to the Grevelingenmeer and consists of a mixture of dried-out soil, shallow water and mudflats and salt marshes that have eventually been sown with rye, grasses and shrubs. In large parts of this area, nature is allowed to take its course. If you are lucky you can see groups of deer, Heck cattle and fjord horses. Halfway through this nature reserve there is another beach, where you can take a wonderful dip in the Grevelingen in the summer.

At Stellendam you leave the nature reserve. Via the Langeweg, you continue your way through the Voorstraat. At the end of this street you will find't Wapen van Stellendam. Here you can go from a cup of coffee to an extensive dinner.

Via the Plaatweg, Zomerweg you return to the Langeweg and your route passes beautiful polder landscapes. Junctions 43, 47, 77 and 44 take you past Dirksland. There is a hospital in Dirksland that fulfills a regional function.

You drive into the village of Herkingen via the Geldersedijk, Zuiddijk and Molendijk. If you continue along the Kaaidijk, at the end you will find the 2 marinas of Herkingen, but also a beach where you can enjoy the salty water of the Grevelingen.

Through the Nieuwstraat you reach the Peuterdijk and this leads you past the Van der Velde Asparagus Farm, at number 59, where it sells green asparagus in season.
