From Arnemuiden you drive the first few kilometres along the edge of the Veerse Meer. There is plenty of nature here. For example, De Piet, a forest area that you see on your left just before junction 40. Further on you will see Middelplaten, a few uninhabited islands in the Veerse Meer. Well, uninhabited: many breeding birds live there. Bring your binoculars if you want to take a closer look at them. In Wolphaartsdijk you will pass De Hoop, a corn mill from 1808. At Herberg de Griffioen it is time for a delicious meal. The monumental building from 1928 also houses an atmospheric B&B where you can spend the night. Via Oud-Sabbinge you drive to the monumental lock in the village of Sluis de Piet, after which you drive through the vast polders to Arnemuiden.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
