Large grazers and storks
The edge of Recreation Lake Bisonbaai forms the starting point of this route. You come here via the first Dutch dike crossing for large grazers. From here you walk around this lake and further you get to know the nature reserve around it. Here you will find herds of Galloway cattle and Konik horses that roam freely. Many storks also live here. This is the largest bird species in the Netherlands. Pay close attention and keep your ears open if you see two storks sitting on their nest. This is because storks declare'love\\\' to each other with spectacular beak clattering. Special to hear.

Lovely stroll
Are you here on a very hot summer day? Then dive into the recreational lake under the watchful eye of the grazers. You can sunbathe on the surrounding beaches. You can also stroll to your heart's content inside and outside the dykes. So go your own way in this area and explore all the beautiful things that can be found here.

Sand extraction
In the outer part of the dike you walk over a former sand wing hole. The man-made deep hole largely determines this floodplain. The Bison Bay also owes its name to the sand extraction, the excavators were called Bison. Inside the dike you see many wheels: puddles behind the dike. These testify that in the past the river sometimes broke through the dike violently.
