Saxon farms
After a comfortable night at Hotel De Kastanjefabriek, you can get on your bike completely refreshed. You immediately drive through the famous Achterhoek landscape of grasslands, meandering streams, hedgerows and forests. You will also see plenty of authentic Saxon farms. The route takes you along car-free roads and cycle paths that suddenly wind between the meadows. Now you can enjoy the rural tranquility!
Frederick Henry
After Rekken there are no more villages on your route, at most a single hamlet. At junction 98 you pass Erve Kots, where you will find an open-air museum. Prince Frederik Hendrik is said to have spent the night in a farm on the property during the siege of Groenlo during the Eighty Years' War. Finally you pass through Eibergen, a beautiful town.
