Walking through Meers and surroundings

Meers is a picturesque village in the basin of the Maas. In the countryside it is wonderful to walk along the meadows and the rippling river.

Mesh
The route starts at Cycling and walking terrace De Witte Börstel. First you walk along the edge of Meers. You walk up the dike, a nice quiet path to switch back on. Here you have a beautiful view of the meadows and the rippling Maas. On the other side of the river you can see the green hills.

Tree circle
Further on you will pass the Tree Circle of Meers, a tree monument consisting of fifteen fossil forest giants that have lain under the Maas water for centuries. You can walk through the beautiful countryside on low-traffic roads and unpaved paths. Get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the tranquility. When you walk into the hamlet of Maasband a little later, you will see a small farm that originally dates back to the sixteenth century.
