First, you'll walk through the dense forests of the Schoorl Forestry. They were created in the nineteenth century because the residents of nearby Schoorl wanted to prevent their village from disappearing under the drifting sand. At the beach, you'll pass a lagoon that was created here a few years ago, a phenomenon unique to the Netherlands. Restaurant De Bokkesprong, run by Hans and Stacey, is an ideal stop along the way. Take a seat on a terrace and enjoy a delicious meal before heading back into the Schoorl Dunes. This nature reserve boasts the highest dune peaks in the Netherlands, making the walk even more enjoyable. Along the way, you'll pass the old Kerkbrink (church square) in Groet.
