The characteristic atmosphere of Goeree-Overflakkee

Grab a cozy terrace at't Wapen van Stellendam and get on your bike full of energy to explore Goeree-Overflakkee. The Korenlust is your first attraction: this beautiful mill dates from 1856. Then you enjoy the varied nature on the island. For example, you will pass through the Oostduinen, one of the most unique and valuable dune landscapes in the Netherlands. In Ouddorp you will still find the atmosphere of the past around the fourteenth-century village church. You can get off at Museum Ouddorps Raad- en Polderhuis to get acquainted with the local history. This museum is housed in a beautiful monument from 1904, built in neo-Renaissance style. You drive through a series of dunes and grasslands to the south side of Goeree-Overflakkee. Here you look out over the Grevelingenmeer, after which you cycle past the Slikken van Flakkee: an unspoilt nature reserve.
