Hiking route 822199
Provided by: Groots Genieten
You can take a nice walk from Haghorst in Brabant. You walk through the farmlands and through Landgoed Baest. A route to enjoy nature and the silence.
Wilhelmina Canal
Along the Wilhelmina Canal you quickly get into your rhythm. It is nice to walk on the car-free, leafy dike. You see some old farms, on the right boats regularly pass over the water. You can recognize the former mining history from the dead straight roads that connect perpendicular to the dike.
Holy Oak
In the middle of the forest you will find the Chapel of the Holy Oak, a particularly atmospheric place. In 1406 two shepherds are said to have found a statue of Mary in the stream De Beerze and placed it in an oak. Then you walk a bit over the private Landgoed Baest. A beautiful decor, in which you mainly see birches and pedunculate oaks. Just below Haghorst you pass through Het Stuk, a small coniferous forest.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
