Get a breath of fresh air in East Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

East Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is a cycling gem. You drive here on low-traffic roads through a spacious landscape with villages worth seeing. Immediately after departure you cycle along the Vogelkreek. This is one of the oldest creeks in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Before the reclamation of Hengstdijk, it was a tidal channel where water from the Western Scheldt flowed in and out twice a day. In Lamswaarde you can see the Sint-Cornelius Church from 1873. In Paal you climb up the dike for a view over the Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe, the largest brackish water marsh in Europe. Cycling along the dike you look out over the wide grasslands.
