Walking through the Kronenberg forests

The forests near Kronenberg are a relatively unknown nature reserve. Put on your walking shoes and come and experience for yourself how beautiful and peaceful it is here.

Beggar's path
On the right side of the road you see some fish ponds, after which you walk into the Steegberg, the first forest on your route. This forest was only cultivated after 1945, mainly coniferous trees grow there. You walk a bit on the Belaarspad. The path is named after poor people who used this road to go to the church's soup kitchen.

Evertsoord
Occasionally you have beautiful vistas over meadows and fields. You will also come across some shifting sand areas and a tuft of heathland that used to be here. Walking between the fragrant coniferous trees of the Schatberg nature reserve, you experience a refreshing silence. You walk through Evertsoord, a village that arose from a camp of reclamation workers in the late 1930s. Finally, you walk through the forest of the Heesberg.
