This route takes you through the beautiful Eem valley. Enjoy a beautiful view of the river that meanders quietly through the landscape with meadows and elongated ditches on either side. The former seacoast area is still quite wet and that has a special attraction for all kinds of birds. In short, there is plenty to see here.
The beautiful Eem valley
From TOP Theetuin Eemnes you cycle along Eemdijk through the Eemvallei. You can then cross the river in Eemdijk with the ferry. Just be careful, because this ferry is closed on Sundays. Along the way you will see a reconstruction of a pile dike, which is the old dike construction. This construction turned out not to be resistant to the shipworms, which thrive in the salt water. Then you cycle further to Spakenburg. Here you can take a cruise on the Eemmeer. Then the route takes you back to Theetuin Eemnes over secluded paths and quiet roads. Here you can end the day with a delicious high tea to return home fully charged.
