The route starts in the forest that lies along the Westkapelse Kreek. This creek was created after the Noordzeedijk was destroyed in a bombing during the Second World War. You walk along a car-free road that is often sheltered by shrubs through the vast polder towards the sea wall. While you walk along the North Sea, you can get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the dike. You pass the Noorderhoofd, the low lighthouse of Westkapelle that dates from 1875. At Het Polderhuis Museum and more you can make a pit stop on the terrace and enjoy an interesting museum visit. On the dike you can admire a Sherman tank, a remnant of the Second World War. You have a beautiful view over Westkapelle and the sea.
