Walking through the rural area of Beek en Donk

This route takes you through the fields just outside Beek en Donk, a village between Gemert and Helmond. You can enjoy the peace and natural beauty here.

South Willemsvaart
The route starts with a coffee and something tasty at Herberg de Brabantse Kluis. The inn is located in a historic farmhouse on the grounds of the Heilig Bloed Mission Monastery. Here you can visit the monastery garden with Lourdes Grotto. After you have walked a bit through the fields, you walk further along a leafy path along the Zuid-Willemsvaart. At junction 5 you see the place where the Aa river flows under the canal.

Oak lust
From the village you walk along a car-free road across the beautiful estate of Eikenlust Castle. The castle originally dates from the sixteenth century and is located in a picturesque location in the valley of the Aa river. You walk back over the old Peeldijk to the Brabantse Kluis.
