You can enjoy beautiful views along the Maas in Gelderland and Brabant. You will also pass through towns with a rich cultural history, such as Batenburg.
Keent
From Restaurant De Korenmolen you drive a bit along the De Gouden Ham recreational lake. From the dike you have beautiful views over the water, on the left you see grasslands and old farms. You cross the Maas and you will also find plenty of peace and space in the Brabant polders. Past Ravenstein you pass through Keent. In this rugged nature reserve, a former Maas arm, which was cut off and filled in in 1938, has been excavated again and connected to the river on one side.
Batenburg Castle
Further on you will pass two listening points from the Liberation Route. You cross the Maas via the Rainbow Bridge to Grave. You pass the eighteenth-century mill of Batenburg. In picturesque Batenburg you seem to drive back in time. Especially if you take a look at the impressive ruins of Batenburg Castle. Just before Appeltern you pass a nineteenth-century dike warehouse. Further on there are two churches in quick succession.
