Description
This walk takes you through Cadzand-Bad and the surrounding area. You enjoy the sea, the peace and quiet in the polder and the old village of Cadzand. You will also pass by't Zwin.
Cadzand-Bad
First you walk through the Kievittepolder. This is actually not a polder, but a salt marsh that has not been diked after a flood. In this nature reserve you will see shrubs including sea buckthorn and hawthorn. Then you walk into Cadzand-Bad, the westernmost seaside resort in the Netherlands.
Boundary marker
Walking along the dunes you can enjoy the fresh, salty sea air and the view. Get a breath of fresh air before walking past the grasslands and arable lands to Cadzand. You will see some beautiful old buildings, such as the thirteenth-century Maria Church. Further on is the Nooit Gedacht, a flour mill from 1898. A little later you walk along the path past't Zwin. You pass a viewpoint with a beautiful view of this special nature reserve. There is also a border marker here.
