Cycling along fortifications from the Grebbe Line

At Restaurant Grebbelounge, you can enjoy a delicious meal and soak up the cultural history. You're at Fort aan de Buursteeg, one of the largest forts on the Grebbe Line. Further on, you'll pass another fortification: the Juffrouwwijk Line. A little later, you'll pass through the Amerongse Bos, one of the oldest forests in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. On the dike along the Rhine, you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying beautiful views. You'll pass beneath the Grebbeberg. Here, you can stop to climb to the King's Table for a majestic view. Further on, you'll pass the Grebbe Lock and its eighteenth-century earthen fortifications. On your right, you'll look out over the bird-rich De Blauwe Kamer nature reserve. Just past Wageningen, you'll pass through the Veluwe forests.
