Description
You will find several beautiful nature reserves around Chaam. This route takes you through the Bleeke Heide and the Chaamse Bossen.
Pale Heather
You walk through a mosaic of grasslands, fields and stream valleys. You regularly see a beautiful old farm. You will have no trouble here switching back and clearing your head. From the hamlet of Houtgoor you can walk through the bird-rich nature reserve Bleeke Heide. Bring binoculars if you like bird watching.
Alphense Bergen
On the edge of the Alphense Bergen forest area you will pass the Fusillade Monument Alphen. This monument commemorates the execution of three civilians in early October 1944 by German Falschirmjäger. The three were probably shot in revenge for not being able to arrest some resistance fighters. Further on you walk through the Chaamse Bossen. A vast forest area where you can fully enjoy the silence.
