Walking through Groet and surroundings

This walk treats you to views and tranquility in the polders around Groet. What a beautiful walking area! You will also pass some sights and walk a bit through the Schoorlse Duinen.

Mills
From the parking lot you walk along a car-free road into the vast Harger and Pettemerpolder. The pattern of meadows and ditches that you see here has been there since the Middle Ages. In summer, blooming flowers provide a beautiful color palette. You pass some bell-shaped farms. You will also pass the Hargermolen, a polder mill from 1804. Further on you will see some bunkers from the Second World War and the Groetermolen, a polder mill from 1890.

Schoorlse Duinen
In Groet you pass the Kerkbrink. You will find a nice historic atmosphere here with the White Church as the most striking attraction. The building dates from 1639. You walk back to the starting point along the Hondsbossche Zeewering. Walk onto this centuries-old sea wall for a beautiful view of the beach and the polders.
