Provided by: Groots Genieten
This walk treats you to views and peace in the polders around Groet. What a beautiful walking area! You also pass some sights and walk a bit through the Schoorlse Duinen.
Mills
From the car park you walk along a car-free road into the vast Harger- and Pettemerpolder. The pattern of meadows and ditches that you see here has been there since the Middle Ages. In the summer, blooming flowers provide a beautiful palette of colours. You pass several farmhouses. You also pass the Hargermolen, a polder mill from 1804. Further on you see several bunkers from the Second World War and the Groetermolen, a polder mill from 1890.
Schoorl Dunes
In Groet you will pass the Kerkbrink. You will find a nice historical atmosphere here with the Witte Kerkje as the most striking sight. The building dates from 1639. Along the Hondsbossche Zeewering you walk back to the starting point. Walk up this centuries-old sea dike for a beautiful view of the beach and the polders.
