You pass through the Twiske nature reserve, Zaanse Schans and Zaandam.
The Twiske
It is nice to cycle along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal, you will pass the chalk mill D\\\'Admiraal from 1792. Just before you cycle into the beautiful unspoilt nature reserve Het Twiske, you will cross the Luijendijk. This'lazy dike\\\' with lock dates from 1589. In the Oostzanerpolder you can see De Windjager. This hobby mill was moved to its current location in 1961.
Zaanse Schans
The Zaanse Schans is a world-famous attraction. With mostly wooden buildings, the unique history of the Zaan region can be experienced here. Get off for a moment, so that you can admire the beautiful buildings at your leisure, with your bicycle in hand. In Zaandam you pass the former town hall just before crossing the Zaan. This striking white building dates from 1847.
