Description
South of Roosendaal there are some beautiful, extensive nature reserves. You cycle through the Rucphense Bossen, the Oude Buisse Heide and the Pannenhoef.
Visdonk estate
You soon cycle into the Rucphense Bossen. Here you mainly drive between fragrant pine trees, you also pass grasslands, deciduous trees and over the Rucphense Heide. Further on you will pass the seventeenth-century Visdonk Estate, where you will find a varied landscape that is wonderful for cycling. Just across the border you drive through the Belgian village of Essen.
Van Gogh
Back in the Netherlands you cycle through the Oude Buisse Heide and the adjacent Wallsteijn Estate with its stately old oak avenues, monumental buildings and hedgerows. The De Moeren country house dates from 1818. The associated farms are also a delight for the high. Van Gogh painted his first landscapes in the surrounding nature reserve. Finally, the Pannenhoef is located on your route, a nature reserve of swamp forests, moist meadows and fields. How beautiful it is to cycle in Brabant!
