This route takes you along the grasslands and flower fields around Schagen. In season you can enjoy an unprecedented display of colors here when the flowers are in bloom. You will also pass through a number of beautiful old towns, such as Schagen and Kolhorn. From the distance you can see Groote Kaap looming, a seventeen-meter-high red steel lighthouse. It was delivered in 1966, but replaced in 1985. Just past Sint Maartenszee you can get off at Fluwels Tulpenland if you want to learn everything about tulips. In the vast Zijpe and Hazepolder you will see characteristic farms and two centuries-old polder mills. In the beautiful town of Schagen you can see the remains of the centuries-old Schagen Castle, demolished in 1920. De Turfschuur museum is located in the picturesque Kolhorn.

Until 1985, a low light and a high light together formed the Zanddijk light line at this spot near Julianadorp. The Kleine Kaap has now been demolished; the bright red, steel Groote Kaap is still there.
