Maaseik is a beautiful old town on the banks of the Maas. From here you can drive straight into the Meuse valley with its beautiful nature reserves and villages worth seeing. After disembarking, it is a good place to stay at the old market of Maaseik.
bichterweerd
The route starts at Tourism Maaseik. Here you will find plenty of information about this beautiful town and the beautiful surroundings. From the city center you can drive straight into the farmlands that lie along the Maas. What peace and space you will find here! You can enjoy the picturesque Belgian Limburg to the fullest by cycling on car-free roads and cycle paths. You pass Bichterweerd, a nature reserve that partly consists of a lake created by gravel extraction.
Oh and Laak
You drive through the Netherlands on the other side of the Maas. Here too it is wonderful to cycle between the flowery floodplains. You pass the beautiful Grevenbichter mill that originally dates from 1660. You will also pass through Ohé en Laak, two beautiful old villages on the (former) Eiland in the Maas. After disembarking you will find yourself on one of the most beautiful market squares in Belgium. There are plenty of cozy terraces to end your day in style.
