Today you cycle through the woods, but also past nice old villages, a beautiful park and an impressive castle.
Vresselse Bos
Your route starts in Beek en Donk. You cycle along the Zuid-Willemsvaart to Mariahout. A little further on you enter the Vresselse Bos. The 250 hectare forest of Scots pine, oak and beech was planted in the 1920s on a cover sand ridge. You also drive through fragrant coniferous forests on the Papenvoorste Heide. Stiphout is a former village that has retained its friendly village character, although it now falls within the city of Helmond.
The Warande
De Warande City Park is a former nature reserve, where the former residents of Helmond Castle are buried on an island, surrounded by old beech trees and an imposing weeping willow.
