This route starts in the middle of De Utrecht. This estate was mined in 1898 as an investment by life insurance company De Utrecht. A large part of the estate is planted with Scots pines and Douglas firs. While you walk on winding and straight forest paths in this tranquil and vast nature reserve, civilization seems to be very far away. Ideal for a day of relaxation. Occasionally you have beautiful views of flowery grasslands. Just before the end of the route you walk past a watchtower between the Flaes and the Goorven - vulnerable nature areas that you can view well from the top. The route starts and ends on the nice terrace of Herberg"In den Bockenreyder\\\". Enjoy your walk here while enjoying a snack and drink.

In den Bockenreyder is beautifully situated between the forests of the De Utrecht estate and close to the fens. In this inn you will be taken back to the time when the goat riders went on raids. The inn is about 90 years old and exudes the atmosphere of the past. You can sit inside by a cozy fireplace and, when the weather is nice, take a seat on the terrace to enjoy the sun.
