Het Slot has a rich family history with (internationally) influential residents, in which strong women play a prominent role. Writer Belle van Zuylen is one of the most famous residents in the history of Slot Zuylen. The castle shows the residential culture of the Utrecht nobility from the 13th century, with art treasures such as paintings by Gerard van Honthorst, a room-filling gobelin, rare glassware and Chinese porcelain crockery. Het Slot is surrounded by beautiful gardens and situated in a beautiful landscape. There is an orchard, a rose garden, a picking garden, a special snake wall, a landscape park and a vegetable garden. The Coach House, with museum caf? and information center make Slot Zuylen an ideal starting point for a walking or cycling tour in the beautiful Vecht region, which is so rich in cultural history.
