The Tjeukemeer (Frisian and officially: Tsjûkemar) is the largest inland waterway of the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located in the Zuidwesthoek in the municipality of De Friese Meren, on the border of the former municipalities of Lemsterland and Skarsterlân.
The westernmost part of the lake is intersected by the A6 motorway. De Wiel and Follegasloot are also located on the west side, the latter connecting to the Princess Margriet Canal. On the north side are the Scharsterrijn and the Zandwater, and on the east side the Broeresloot. The surface of the lake is approx. 22 km².

Restaurant Ant Waeter is located in the middle of the Weerribben, the beautiful wetland nature reserve that is part of the Weerribben-Wieden National Park. The restaurant is located in a former farm, which makes the restaurant extra attractive. Everywhere you look in this area you see water. It is therefore not surprising that this restaurant borders on the water, you have a beautiful view from the terrace. You can come here for a cup of coffee with fresh apple pie, a snack from the small menu or an extensive meal. There is also a B&B and a mini-camping nearby.
