In the far west of Brabant you encounter the influence of the sea everywhere. You can enjoy cycling along the water here.
Steenbergse Vliet
From your starting point at Anna Jacobapolder you cycle towards Brabant. Time and again on this watery route you will encounter the influence of the sea, for example in the countless creeks that can be found in this region. This way you cross the Steenbergse Vliet, where you have a beautiful view of the bird-rich Dintelse Gorzen nature reserve outside the dike, which became dry after the closure of the Philipsdam. Worth walking through!
Steenbergen
You cycle close to the Volkerak, a body of water that was probably created during the St. Elisabeth flood in 1421. From the dike you can enjoy different views of the water. Past Dinteloord you drive to Steenbergen, which has been a fortified town for almost two hundred years. In the old center you will still experience a historic atmosphere. Via the Scheldt-Rhine Canal you drive to Sint Philipsland, where you cycle a long way along the water - this time from the Krabbenkreek.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
