Leende is already a beautiful old village, but if you walk through the hamlet of Leenderstrijp you really go back in time. Here you can spot one Kempian long-gable farm after another!
Leenderstrijp
You first walk through the nice Leende and then to the farming hamlet of Leenderstrijp. In this hamlet you see many centuries-old long-gabled farms. While walking you can enjoy the look back in the Kempen time that you get here. What a beautiful authentic landscape you will find here! The Sint Janskapel just outside the village completes it.
Leenderbos
A little further on you will discover De Heimolen, which is now owned by Staatsbosbeheer. The route continues along the edge of the Leenderbos. This Kempen landscape with its clear differences in height was created during the last ice age by deposits of sand. Heathland, fens, sand dunes, winding paths and farms: this area never gets boring. On the small heathlands you can encounter the nightjar, the viviparous lizard or the gentian blue. Even cranes and black storks visit the heath as a stopping place.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
