Description
Beautiful farms and chapels, a beautiful small-scale farming landscape: the mosaic of the Meierij is a wonderful cycling area.
Small-scale landscape
You regularly pass old farms. De Meierij is also known for its small-scale landscape: a mosaic of streams, flower-rich grasslands and hedgerows. You soon drive past Slot Den Hulst, a tall white-plastered house under a hipped roof. It already existed in the fourteenth century, but has been renovated many times over the centuries.
Jukebox Museum
On the Den Hulst estate you will also find the Jukebox Museum (open on Sundays only). Here you can listen to beautiful examples that the owner has been restoring since 1980. At the village of Kasteren you cross the beautifully winding Dommel. You cycle back through the woods near Schijndel and the pleasant Sint-Oedenrode. Just before the end of the route you will pass the place where Ten Houte Castle once stood. The canals can still be recognized in the nature reserve.
